A day to rest

Yesterday was supposed to be our day off but we got called up and asked (TOLD) to fly. We were eligible as we were put into a standby force that night so it was possible but unlikely. I really didn’t like waking up to my pager going off at O dark early but I was very glad that I had gone to bed early and had gotten some rest that night.

Our flight went well, we carried Kool and the Gang, they are the ones that sing “Brick House” We also made it down to Kuwait were I got to see all the changes from the last time I was deployed there in 2006. Wow they have done a lot! It makes me think of Prince Sultain Air Base in Saudi Arabia where everything got all built up then we gave it back to the Saudis. I just hope we give this stuff back pretty soon but that’s another story.

Today I am catching up on email and ordered some morale patches from online. I am going to get E a sketch of what we want so she can have it made at Tigers, a place in Japan that is well known for making patches. I might make it to the pool but it’s pretty dusty today so I am not that excited about sitting in a dust storm.

Time for lunch, Chao
