Happy New Year

Happy New Year!!! It’s official I have now spent 3 New Years deployed (2005 in Thailand for the Asian Tsunami, 2006 in Kuwait, 2009 now here in Iraq) I had plans to stay up and see what kind of party they had here but I ended up passing out and falling asleep around 2300… I know sad but I was very tired.

This is the last sunset of 2008 here in Iraq, it was a great one and was a fitting end to a wonderful year.

I did get up this morning and made it for a 5K run that started at 0600. We ran it at a nice slow pass (29 min) and had fun even though it was freezing!!! Let’s hope the weather is better next Sat for a 12mile that I am going to attempt, more to come on that…

Jonny C and JD showing their new 5K shirts infront of the New Year Tree =)

My nice free shirt for completing the 5K (notice with a flash you can see all the blowing dust!)

Today I am about to get a haircut to start the New Year off right and then I am off to bed as I am flying tonight. Yea it’s pretty cool that I got to fly on both Xmas and New Year.

Hope everyone had a safe and fun holiday season. I look forward to seeing you all this coming year.

Take care, ALOHA!
