Ah the Sand/Dust storms...

So it’s very dusty here today. The vis is less then ¼ mile and that makes it a little tough to do the flying thing. Here are some examples of what I mean...
Dust
and more Dust
and yes even a dust video (the camera loves this fine powdery sand!)

I was supposed to go to 5 fields but only ended up being able to land at one of them then back home. I wish I could show you how bad the weather is but I just can’t capture that with a camera. I mean it’s so dusty that your eyes just feel like they are full of sand, oh wait they are! And the teeth, it’s odd when you close your moth you can hear the sand grinding between your teeth. I guess I should think of it as a free teeth polishing treatment =)

So what does one do when there is all this dust in the air, well I got chosen to sit the duty desk. I get to sit in the ops building and help make everything happen, the pulse of the squadron if you will. It’s defiantly a thankless job and one that I am not thrilled about but it does need to be done and it is not like there is going to be much flying going on with this weather.

OK back to reading my book, Fate is the Hunter by Ernest Gann. At first I thought it was a little hard to read but I am getting used to the larger words (over 5 letters).
